Gardener's Tips - November Keep mowing. Dont neglect the lawn over winter. The lawn may still require a cut to keep it even but dont cut it too short. Wrap up for the winter. Either place pots in fleece jackets or put in the greenhouse over winter. Finish planting spring flowering bulbs Rake up autumn leaves from around the lawn and borders Wrap grease bands around fruit trees to catch winter moths Clean greenhouse glazing, staging and finish lining with bubble wrap Store hoses and other watering equipment in the shed over winter Ensure terracotta and glazed pots are raised off the ground using pot feet which will prevent frost damage Wrap insulation around outside pipes and taps Keep an eye on the bird table ensuring there is enough food for our native birds To see a sample of our most recent newsletter

The Old Railway Line Garden Centre was etablished back in 1990 by the present owners, Mark and Christina Cleary. The nursery started trading from an 8x6 greenhouse next to a layby in Three Cocks serving the local people with bedding plants grown by thier own green fingers. The garden centre has grown considerably over recent years with the addition of a brand new outdoor plant area and new coffee shop |
